Presentations, Instagram, and some new projects

Fit4Work is ever evolving. The need is clear. The resources are needed. But I have several problems, one being that I am only one person. And, like you I have a day job that is important to me. And I have created social media around Fit4Work but certainly can't keep up with it all and blogging, which is why blogging has taken a back seat for me. My real goal, though is to create community for all of us to share ideas of what we are doing and how we are doing it. I am finding a lot of OTs on Instagram, a lot of population health on Twitter, and no one really on Facebook...Lately, I have been posting more on Instagram, really out of a desire to see what other people are doing and to share what I am doing. Because of school rules, anything I share is completely deidentified, but I am finding it is relatively easy to quickly share concepts. So you may want to come find me there if that is what you are looking for (@Fit4WorkPT).

In other news, I have written my first grant to create a free YouTube resource of Fitness videos. Fingers crossed. I am also working on a workbook that will be a tool for school teams in program planning for Fit4Work. I am hoping this will help to take people from what is Fit4Work, to how do I implement Fit4Work style programming in my school.

Anyway, to connect with me:

I will be at the Virginia OT School Symposium where I will be presenting several sessions...Leadership and School PTs, because the job that we are doing requires enormous leadership, and I think we sometimes dont give ourselves credit for all of that leadership,

nor do we nurture it in a purposeful way. We will be having constructive conversation on how to do that.

Dr. Amanda Iannotti and I will be sharing on how to use CrossFit and MovNat aas intervention strategies in schools to maximize participation. I posted my MovNat antics this past Spring, but I am finding that it is returning me to some functional movement roots that are proving pivotal to my student's success.

I will be at AOTA in April, presenting a poster on Home Participation Checklist! Very excited to move this work forward. This tool is freely available on the website, tab documents.

If you can't make it to VOTA or AOTA, I am working on an online course for this Fall...or if you would like to sponsor a course in your area this summer let me know.

I would love to hear what you are doing with regard to Fit4Work, tag me on Instagram or Twitter! Or email me here. In order to share the good work we are doing, lets keep in touch :)
