Fit4Work Updates: Fit4Work in the Classroom

Its hard to believe it is the end of July...and with it, we start to think about the new school year! In collaboration with DPT students at the George Washington University, students Amanda Allen, Anna Gratalo and Riley Ruyak created a new product: Fit4Work in the Classroom. Housed on the Fit4Work Activity Program website, this product helps to demonstrate how Fit4Work concepts can be used. Grounded in physical literacy, they have created

  1. 4 lesson plans based on 4 functional movements: push, pull, squat and walk/carry

  2. downloadable/editable slide deck with 4 interactive activities

  3. a one pager describing what this is

  4. one pagers on each functional movement linking physical literacy concepts to the movement and includes videos

  5. cue cards and all necessary learning materials

We hope you find this useful. All is free and available to download. If you do download, please give us feedback here, so we can use this in development of future products.

Fit4Work is also proud to announce that Karen Greeley, PT, DSc will be joining us as a collaborator and presenter. Karen is a seasoned clinician who was trained in Fit4Work Implementation in 2018 and knows all about barriers...but she knows about solutions as well. She is a skilled presenter and will be available to help me disseminate the all important Fit4Work message: that the students we work with deserve a better quality of life and we can help get them there, by increased fitness that helps them engage in not only work, but life. Karen is offering free mini presentations on Fit4Work in the classroom, email me for details @Fit4workPT@gmail.com

Enjoy the rest of your summer,

Yours in health
